Since 1947 The Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce has recognized individuals and businesses in Iberia Parish who are making a positive impact through the Outstanding Civic Service Award and the Business Impact Awards. The recipients for these awards will be announced in the coming days.


The 2022 Annual Banquet is presented by LeBlanc Honda, Kia, Nissan and Iberia Medical Center. The Banquet keynote speaker will be Michael Desormeaux,is a former UL Lafayette football standout and CHS Class of 2004 graduate. He is the head football coach of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.


A meal included with your ticket, and over 350 local business leaders all in one place, the Chamber's Annual Banquet is the largest business/networking meeting for Iberia Parish! Tickets can be purchased at iberiachamber.org or by calling the Chamber Office (337)-364-1836. Seating is limited, and tickets must be purchased in advance. Individual tickets are $65, and a table for eight is available for $600.

    Key Note Speaker, Michael Desormeaux is the 27th Head Coach of UL Ragin Cajun Football Team. “Coach Des” as he is affectionately known, is a graduate of Catholic High School and UL where he excelled on the football field. As a quarterback for UL, Desormeaux was named All-Sun Belt Conference three times as an all-purpose specialist before being named the league's Offensive Player of the Year after throwing for 1,876 yards while rushing for 1,035 yards. After concluding his career with the Ragin' Cajuns, Desormeaux signed a free agent contract as a defensive back with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars.

    Following his retirement from playing professional football, Desormeaux returned home and took over the reigns as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at his alma mater, Catholic High School in New Iberia, Louisiana where he stayed for the 2010- 2012 seasons. From 2013 -2015 football seasons Coach Desormeaux coached at Ascension Episcopal. In 2016, Desormeaux joined the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as their wide receivers coach. In December of 2017, Desormeaux was named as interim head coach. In 2017, retained and named assistant head coach and tight ends coach for UL Lafayette, later becoming the head coach for the Ragin' Cajuns in the 2021 New Orleans Bowl to conclude the 2021 season.

    Michael and his Wife Lindsey have two children, Thomas and Elle.
